This website has a simple purpose: we aim to bring out lesser-known stories of paranormal activity in and around Lyme Regis alongside the famous ones. We have done years of research through membership of the Society for Psychical Research and other fora. We’re now bringing it all together.

Lyme Regis Haunts started in 2024 after a chance encounter led to the discovery of a previously un-documented haunting. At the time, the tale was taken at ‘face value’… a ‘maybe but maybe not’. However, shortly after the source of the story passed away, new evidence supporting their story came to light and led to a detective story that led to the discovery of the tale of the Timber Hill Girl.

We have always loved Lyme Regis history. There is just so much of it! So many stories from the sea, the cliffs, the hills and the winding stress. It’s not just the fossils of dinosaurs that surround us but the psychic fossils of hauntings and paranormal events that are often lost and unrecorded in the oral traditions of family history.

Maintaining this site is a voluntary part-time job for (there’s not much money in ghosts unless you’re a charlatan), so if you contact us, please don’t expect quick replies or lengthy debates. However, if you have a story to tell from your family, past or present, please use our ADD YOUR STORY page.

It’s also a way to contact us.

Thanks for visiting and keep your ears, eyes and ‘sixth senses’ open!
